He Is Risen

Lord God, You loved this world so much, that you gave your one and only Son, that we might be called your children too. Lord, help us to live in the gladness and grace of Easter Sunday, everyday. Let us have hearts of thankfulness for your sacrifice. Let us have eyes that look upon your grace and rejoice in our salvation. Help us to walk in that mighty grace and tell your good news to the world.

Dear Friends and Emmanuel Family,

He is risen!  He is risen! He is risen…and He lives forever more!

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.”  John 11:25

Jesus’ resurrection shows that we are forgiven, releases us from the grip of sin, and frees us from the fear of death. Those are truths we make sure our children at Emmanuel know in their heart. In fact, we teach it to them in short statements:

  • I am loved,
  • I am forgiven,
  • I can overcome sin,
  • I am free from the fear of death,
  • I am alive through Christ Jesus.

We teach our children to live every day with the joy of knowing God loves them every day.  Therefore every day is resurrection day, because Jesus lives in us every day.

This Easter celebration, we want to thank you for the opportunity you give our children to come to know Jesus’s sacrifice and forgiveness for their lives.  For enabling us to provide a space to feel and celebrate the victory of His Resurrection and to claim God’s love for there lives.

The children at Emmanuel come to know God’s love through the compassion and generosity they feel by your love and support.  Our children know that it is your love for God in action that makes it possible for them to have a safe shelter at Emmanuel.  They know your support helps provide for their food, and their education and all their basic needs. Better yet, they feel your love through your prayers, your letters, your gifts and your visits.  God’s love for the children at Emmanuel is very clear, you have made it so by showing them His love by who you are.

Thank you for allowing Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection in your life.  Thank you for responding to His calling to show those lost and in need of His mercy and hope.  Thank you for being you and deciding to partner with Emmanuel to bring children to the knowledge of God’s great love.

With a grateful heart,

Betel Lopez
